The Swift Signs and Shirts Christmas Stages Rally takes place on Sunday 15th December 2019 at Croft Circuit. The event will consist of 8 stages throughout the day with at least the final stage run in complete darkness. The event gets underway with the first car starting stage 1 at 9:00am and the following cars starting at 30 second intervals which makes for constant action and entertaining viewing all day. At least the last stage will run in compete darkness. Croft Circuit’s raised grass viewing banks allow good viewing and the open service area allows you to get a close view of the competing cars and drivers. Food vans will be available inside the circuit.
In recent years the event has become a regular outing for thousands of fans fed up of the taste of turkey and instead hungry for high-speed action during what is generally accepted as a quiet period for motor sport.
The Christmas Stages Rally has a reputation for attracting large entries with 80 or more crews in a wide variety of competition-tuned machinery – including ex-factory World Rally Cars – often contesting the event.
Another appeal is that all eight of the rally’s timed special stages are held within the perimeters of Croft Circuit, the region’s premier motor sport venue located just outside Darlington. That means spectators can see the vast majority of the action as well as rub shoulders with competing drivers during a permanent service area where mechanics will work on fettling the cars in between stages.
